Title: Dipping the Feet
Description: ---William

Caroline Pierce - April 19, 2006 09:10 PM (GMT)
There were times when one just had to resort to dipping feet in the water. Not only was it enjoyable on several occasions, but it was very refreshing, especially on a warmer day. And the warmth...Caroline had no idea at all why it was so warm. Some sort of earthly pheonomenon or other explanation, whatever it was...she wasn't minding it.

Sitting on a rock by the lake, still in her uniform, Caroline Pierce sat by the lake, with her feet delicately dipped into the water, moving them around delicately and watching the ripples go out into the middle of the lake as she did so. Well...they didn't exactly go out to the middle of the lake, but she still liked watching the ripples in the water.

The girl let out a sign and leaned back on the rock, thankful that it was rather flat and smooth and allowed herself to enjoy the sun at the time. Caroline was a relatively pale girl, which had to do with most everyone else in her family having fair skin. She burned at times, but at the moment wasn't thinking at all of burns. There were plenty of ways to make them go away as well, besides all she wanted to do was enjoy the lovely weather. Of course, well, nothing seems to go exactly as planned at Hogwarts.

William Malfoy - April 21, 2006 02:51 AM (GMT)
William had expected a relitivly peaceful day and would have that if it kille dhim. he'd already written to his Mother about buying his own apartment and about the tournament so his aces were all in one hole, and he needed rest.

So he'd thrown on a pair of jeans, a white tee shirt and a gray sweatshirt before heading out on a quick run. He'd settle by the lake later and read up on some stuff for a test, but it was all irrelevent as he raced along the path beside the Forest he'd always run by.

Sure it was burned to a crip but William didn't mind, he was too excited. This sort of ruined his idea for a peaceful afternoon and as he neared the lake, a familiar figure lying on a rock also helped to dash that dream.

"Well," he said, breathing a bit harder. "If it isn't Caroline Pierce."

The girl wa sintrigueing to him, but he decided to play it cool as he layed againt the rock a few inches away.

"Lazing about then as usual?" he joked cocking an eyebrow at her...

Caroline Pierce - April 21, 2006 09:27 PM (GMT)
Caroline was interrupted from her silent day dreaming and relaxing by the lake by a voice, it was familiar but she couldn't quite place it and looked over in the direction it had come for.

She was quite surprised to see who was looking back at her. William Malfoy, the boy thought he was the most desirable person in the school, but that was what drove Caroline away. She would admit that he was very good looking, she wasn't blind...that and she didn't want to be like every other girl in the school. Caroline didn't want to swoon. She could blush but she was just not a swooner.

"Lazy? Mr. Malfoy clearly you're mixing relaxing with lazing around. And cleary you can see that I'm relaxing on such a nice day." She was tempted to say 'what was a nice day' but didn't feel like it. It was not as if his presence had totally ruined her day. At least she would no longer be so terribly bored.

OOC: ack didn't mean to do that at all!

William Malfoy - April 26, 2006 11:11 PM (GMT)
"Lazy? Mr. Malfoy clearly you're mixing relaxing with lazing around. And cleary you can see that I'm relaxing on such a nice day."

He scoffed and looked at her sideways, studying the peculiar girl with a slight hint of curiosity in his icy blue eyes. She was beautiful but a possible traitor, and someone who was very unintrested. But that seemed to fule he young Malfoy's fire even more. Damn women and their feminine wiles...

"No Mrs. Peirce!" he said in a high pitched voice "I was simply wondering why you weren't up to your elbows in books as we Ravenclaws usually are. It's a strange sight to see someone of our noble house enjoying themselves."

Then he laughed and lowered himself onto the ground, leaning back on his hands and not waiting for his invitation.

"But now you have me to entertain you My lady, and I don't take no for an answer anymore." he said cheekily "No objecitons I suppose?"

He winke dat the girl and squinted in the sun. Waiting for a reply...

Caroline Pierce - April 26, 2006 11:20 PM (GMT)
Caroline couldn't help but laugh at the comment and grinned. Really, some people were just a bit too stereotypical. Ravenclaws did not always like to do work, they were allowed to enjoy themselves, Caroline was allowed to her enjoy herself.

"Hasn't it ever occured to you that perhaps I finished it. Besides, you're outside as well, not working...so you can't say that it's that odd." The girl said still smiling and shaking her head.

Caroline no longer had to look up as he lowered himself onto the ground. He was nearly up to the height she was at. Damn being that short, ah well, she was perfecly porportional, it didn't matter that much.

"To you sitting? No, I do suppose you're allowed to sit in the grass." Caroline answered, knowing fully that he was not asking permission to sit in the grass. She wasn't going to give the elder a boy an answer to that question, oh no, she wouldn't give in the concieted, yet charming Malfoy...yet.

William Malfoy - May 7, 2006 08:59 PM (GMT)
"To you sitting? No, I do suppose you're allowed to sit in the grass."

William chuckled softly at her answer and leaned back into the grass, his hair feathering behind him and the soft blades tickling the skin on his back. Caroline looked loveley under the warm sun and Will couldn't help staring.

"You know somthing Pierce, your a real peice of work." he mumbled running a hand through his hair and sitting up again. "I mean, not to sound arrogant or anyhting, but most women would have been putty by now. Am I that unsavory to you?"

He knew perfectly well that he was pushing buttons, but didn't mind. William Malfoy wasn't one to quite easily and Carolie Peirce had always been a puzzling subject for him. It was a bit childish on his part but that wasn't relevent at the moment.

Caroline Pierce - May 7, 2006 09:22 PM (GMT)
Caroline had actually wondered if they would ever have a conversation like the one they were having at the moment. She had always been one to resist, and that made her different, perhaps it made her more desirable, whatever it was...she had always been different and the girl knew that.

"Well then I suppose that would mean, I'm just not like most girls, wouldn't it?" Caroline answered and regarded the boy closely, waiting to see what his reaction would be to that.

"Unsavory? No, I don't suppose you're unsavory. I just don't feel like fainting before your feet, and declaring my love to you. And don't get any ideas, I'm not in love." She added after the next question. Inside she was rather uneasy about it, and partly wanted to draw in her feet around her and warm herself up. That was another odd thing, she was blushing slightly, but she felt cold. Two different temperatures, not quite normal.

William Malfoy - May 7, 2006 10:06 PM (GMT)
She was blushing.

Caroline Pierce, the one girl who'd seemed to illude him at every turn wa sblushing, and William found himself fascinated with this all too familiar gesture. But he quickly snapped out of it and pressed on again.

"Well, just because you want to stand out doesn't mean you have to crush a poor man's pride." he joked leaning towards the rock where she sat. "And I never asked for you to delcare anything, infact, I like a challenge."

He winked up at her and waited. Making women squirm wqas his specialty and hopefully he could get this one exactly where he wanted this time, then he'd figure out what to do next...

Caroline Pierce - May 7, 2006 10:23 PM (GMT)
"Stand out? I never had any intention of standing out, just that I wouldn't give in. Really Mr. Malfoy, get your facts right." Caroline answered and laughed slightly, smiling down at Will.

"So it can be crushed, amazing, I would have never guessed." Caroline answered and laughed again, though only slightly. The present time didn't exactly seem like one in which to be laughing, but she still did so.

He winked. Dear god, what was he playing at now? They had, in a way, just gone over why Caroline had never gone for a little snog with him...and now he was winking, odd, characteristic, but she still felt that it was odd and Caroline found herself blushing again.

"So that's all I am, is it? Do you regard women as challenges, prizes Mr. Malfoy, or are we more than that, tell me, enlighten me." She answered, partly covering up for her uncomfortablness, but also, genuinely interested in the response. She really didn't know what men thought in some respects, just as she knew they were a good amount of time clueless.

William Malfoy - May 7, 2006 11:39 PM (GMT)
So that's all I am, is it? Do you regard women as challenges, prizes Mr. Malfoy, or are we more than that, tell me, enlighten me.

Will scoffed and sat up on his haunces angin so he could be eye level with the beautiful blonde infront of him. She was an onion of sorts, and just like that chessy old similie, Caroline Peirce was obviously made of many layers. Outside she seemed perfectly hard and entact enough to fend William off, but her body language gave away her true intentions. It was an endering and somewhat sexy quality that she had. How could one girl be that much to him? Him! The hoit man on campus?!

"Your thinking into this way to much." he said after a moment "Every man thinks this way, but it's only because we set you up on these... these pedestals that make you seem like prizes. After awhile that metality fades, or atleast with the good ones it does."

He sounded philsophical and that was strang. So he switched to a lighter topic. Employment.

"Saw you downtown the other day, did you get a job or somthing? I knpw you wouldn't have an aprtment just yet..."

Caroline Pierce - May 7, 2006 11:58 PM (GMT)
She was eyelevel with him now, but didn't feel as short as she might have felt at another time, odd, but she liked the feeling of it. Caroline normally felt a bit small, mostly because she was, but because of that had always wanted to make up for her small body size with a larger brain. She craved knowledge, she liked to analyze, perhaps that's why she was sorted into Slytherin, the outcast house as it seemed now.

"And you're not just a little bit. I'm supposed to overanalyze things, it's part of the house description. Granted some people do it less and some people do it a bit more, but really, you know what I mean." Caroline answered and cracked another smile at the thought. She really didn't mind analyzing things, in a way it calmed her to be able to rationalize, she needed to do it.

"In Entropine? Yes, I uh...work at the bookstore, couldn't help myself. And you? Do you work anywhere? Have an apartment?" Caroline asked, very much thankful for the change in coversation. It had become too open and much too awkward, and she was slightly afraid of going somewhere she didn't want to.

William Malfoy - May 8, 2006 12:09 AM (GMT)
"In Entropine? Yes, I uh...work at the bookstore, couldn't help myself. And you? Do you work anywhere? Have an apartment?"

William smirked at her.

"How cliche, and how lovely." he said softly "But no, I'm looking for a nice place, maybe an apartment, maybe a house. Who knows? I think I might start my own shop down there though, somthing useful."

He laughed again, feeling like an inexperianced boy that needed to impress her. He'd better snap put of it soon though, or else he'd be as soft as a bloody boiled egg, and that wouldn't do at all.

"Maybe I should drop in on you at your new job?" he joked staring at her with a diffrent intensity. It was more of a question than a statement.

Caroline Pierce - May 8, 2006 12:20 AM (GMT)
"Cliché? Well...yeah I do suppose it's a bit, didn't mean for it to be that way, but I guess it is." Caroline said and blushed unintentionally. She had let that one slip by accident and pretended to ignore it.

"Well, good luck with your searching. Any ideas for a shop? There are already so many things, if you want to be successful it would have to be original, so you could kind of get a monopoly." Caroline commented. It was odd how the two were talking like regular friends, when she was usually so cold to Will, but it felt right and she didn't want it to suddenly change.

She had just gotten started at the bookstore. It was nice, kind of odd how she liked to go in and smell new books, and old ones, there were all kinds, but she liked them all. Books had a unique smell, one that she liked and prized, one that she was now getting used to. "If you want to. I mean you don't have to come in, at least buy something if you do. There are so many books there, and in all different languages, I suppose because of the graduates of other schools." Caroline answered, rambling a bit. She could help but get a bit excited about talking about books, and perhaps, though she didn't say it Will visiting her. She woudln't admit the last part of course, never would she admit that.
